Frequently Asked Questions

Cake & Cupcake FAQs

1) Do you have a retail location? No, I operate out of my home under the guidelines of the Montana Local Food Choice Act (SB 199).

2) Do you have cakes & cupcakes ready-made? All our cakes & cupcakes are custom made and though we have been known to squeeze in last-minute orders, advance notice is usually necessary.

3) Do you deliver? Yes, we deliver to Montana State University Bozeman Campus as well as the Bozeman/4 Corners/Belgrade areas. Please inquire directly for cost.

4) Do you ship your cupcakes or cakes? We do not ship.

5) What type of buttercream is used for your florals? We use American Buttercream (often called ABC). The ingredients are simply unsalted butter, confectioner’s sugar and pure vanilla. It offers the best consistency for the detailed decorations of our cakes & cupcakes.

6) Can you replicate a cake or cupcake from a photo? Maybe! Be aware that there are many AI images out there. Send me a photo and I’ll give you an honest answer.

7) Is Buttercup your full-time job? I actually work full-time as a project manager for a local tech company, therefore, I must limit orders to maintain my sanity. I focus on Buttercup nights & weekends with an occasional vacation day used to fill orders.

Care Package FAQs

1) Are your Care Packages a subscription service only? Nope! You can order one package or as many as I currently have up for sale on the website.

2) Do you offer Gluten-Free? Yes, I will do my best to always have GF options available for Care Packages.

3) Will you be offering more packages than what is currently on the website? Yes! This is a fairly new business venture so, in time, I do plan to offer more varieties for both scheduled and on-demand deliveries.

4) How can I be alerted when packages are open for ordering? Please sign up to receive updates (below). I send an email when my packages are ready for ordering and, based on this past semester, they will sell out quickly. Order early to avoid disappointment!

5) Can I make substitutions in the care packages? Possibly! Let’s chat about what you need.
